Capricorn Society - Design On Demand
Challenge
Agile development delivery allows Design to work on future features to ensure they are ‘shovel ready’, to be executed by the development team.
The Capricorn Society Digital teams had identified that they needed some additional capacity and capability around User Experience and UI Design.
Insight
Hatchd are working with Capricorn Society to establish a working module, which allows the flexibility of the Design team resourcing, based on the needs of the Capricorn Digital team.
A nimble, augmented approach was needed.
Solution
We are working closely with the Capricorn Digital & Marketing teams to reimagine the experience of Members and suppliers on their Member-focused platform.
Work Details
Capricorn plays a vital role in supporting the automotive sector. It is a unique, member-owned organisation, dedicated to helping businesses in the automotive industry grow further. Members have access to essential services like equipment finance, travel solutions, and business support. Currently, with over 29,000 members and more than 2,000 preferred suppliers operating across Australia and New Zealand, Capricorn is ever-growing and remains the largest automotive cooperative across the region.
At Hatchd, we’re thrilled to partner with Capricorn as an extension of their team. We’re working across multiple platforms and squads, collaborating with everyone from product owners to developers, third-party suppliers, and QA testers. Together, we’re crafting best-in-class UX and UI design to enhance Capricorn’s digital experience for its members.
Identify & Prototype
The Hatchd team are working with the Capricorn Society Digital & Marketing teams to collate requirements and expectations, culminating in conceptual prototypes, high-level user journeys and the creation of a design system - a living breathing design organism that Capricorn can utilise. Through this work, we are;
- conducting desktop and analogous research,
- delivering a requirements-gathering session,
- defining the user experience direction,
- creating prototypes, and;
- facilitating workshops.
User Validation & Refine
We are working to validate the desirability of concepts throughout the design process with Capricorn. One-on-one sessions with current Members are conducted to gather feedback on the prototype, with insights documented in a comprehensive report. We are facilitating user testing, synthesising data and determining recommendations to refine the concept.
Design & Architect
Hatchd and Capricorn Society teams collaborated extensively to develop and refine detailed user journeys, wireframes, and designs that are used to inform the delivery efforts across the Capricorn Digital teams including determining which features should be prioritised for each release. We are supporting Capricorn by providing experience direction, design system development, user requirements documentation and UI design.
Delivery - Ongoing Support
We a proud to continue to work with Capricorn Society into the delivery phase, acting as an extension of their team, reviewing the build, and producing relevant assets and documentation.
This includes looking at how we can revamp the experience of specific services and platforms. Our support is utilised across Capricorn Society to ensure there is consistency across all experiences and services from a design and experience standpoint. We embrace the challenge of working across such a diverse and extensive organisation like Capricorn Society.
